Tomatoes and peaches still dominate this week’s Pepper Place offering. The weather is nearly perfect with cloudless skies and negligible humidity but there seem to be about 30 percent fewer farmers in attendance. One of the most interesting fruits I saw today was a sun jewel melon from the folks at Snow’s Bend. They described its taste as a cross between a cantaloupe and a banana. Color me intrigued.
